The newly build monastery at Kharikhola is known as “Pema Namding Monastery” and is being build with donations from the friends of KhariKhola and contributions from local peoples of Juving and Chauri Kharka of Solukhumbu. And mainly donating from VERENIGING NEDERLAND-NEPAL (VNN),Courbetstraat 20-I,1077 ZT Amsterdam, and STICHTING HORIZON
Kooltjesbuurt 13,1411 RZ Naarden,The Netherland . And many other individual foreigners .
The name of the monastery was given by Trulsik Rinpoche of Thupten Chholing Monastery. It is located above the Kharikhola village and has magnificent view of the surroundings.
In coordination to Mr. Ngima Dorji Sherpa - President of Monastery Construction committee, the village people of Kharikhola has great contributions to complete the project. The monastery complex will be used for various purposes like Buddhist teachings and other social activities. In near future it will be developed as a center for Buddhist studies and research center. The construction of the monastery was started in 2004.
H.H. RIGZIN DORJEE RINPOCHE from Nyingma Institute of Sikkim is scheduled to inaugurate the newly build monastery and will give teachings on Buddhism and blessings to all who have come to participate the opening ceremony of the Monastery.
A 4-day opening ceremony of newly build Pema Namding Monastery at KhariKhola, Solukhumbu, is scheduled from April 17 to April 20, 2008.
The Monastery Construction committee is very much thankful to all who have made their great contribution to make this project a success.
Kharikhola Village lies in the Everest region, in between Jiri to Lukla trek route and is homeland of several popular Everest summiteers. |
